Tunisia exited the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic qualifiers after losing both legs to Senegal, going down 1-0 in the first leg before a 2-0 home defeat in the return fixture. Speaking at his post-match press conference, Tunisia coach Haykel Gmamdia voiced regret over the opening match in Rades, where his side created several chances but failed to convert.

"A lot of regrets, especially in relation to the first leg. I think you saw the situations, the chances. We dominated, in any case, the first match. The most effective team won," Gmamdia said, praising his players' second-half response before tipping Senegal to progress. "Congratulations to Senegal, which deserves to go through this third round. Congratulations to the coach and to the Lionnes de la Teranga."

Gmamdia also highlighted the warm reception he received in Senegal, where he spent time with friends from his childhood in France. He backed Senegal coach Alioune Abitalib Fall's rebuilding project, insisting the team needs time to mature. "In two years, Senegal will be competitive, simply because the girls will gain maturity and experience. But you have to let the coach work. That is the most important thing."
