Ghana's Spintex Knights begin their Road to BAL qualifying campaign in Tripoli, Libya, from 21 to 25 October 2026, chasing a place in the 2027 Basketball Africa League season. The three-time Greater Accra Basketball League champions have represented Ghana in successive Road to BAL campaigns.
The Knights have been drawn in West Division Group B alongside Energie Basketball Club of Benin, AS Douanes of Burkina Faso, NPA Pythons of Liberia and Red Flames of Sierra Leone. The top two finishers advance to the West Division Elite 16, scheduled for 10 to 15 November in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire.
In 2024, Spintex Knights became the first Ghanaian club to reach the Elite 16. The following year, they reached the West Division semifinals in Praia, Cape Verde, where a 93–82 defeat to Jeunesse Club d'Abidjan ended their campaign and handed JCA Kings the BAL place they were seeking.
The club estimates the campaign will cost around US$200,000, with international travel, accommodation, training, player welfare, equipment and tournament logistics all part of the budget. Organisers say corporate sponsorship, strategic partnerships and community backing are needed to support the effort.
