Jean Jacques Boissy and Makhtar Gueye led the Senegalese offence with 16 points each, while Gora Camara contributed 14 points and 13 rebounds. Senegal pulled away after the interval, outscoring Uganda 44-23 in the second half to put the game well beyond reach.
Geng Deu paced Uganda with a game-high 17 points, and debutant Jacksen Moni chipped in 10 points before leaving the court in the fourth quarter with what appeared to be a serious lower leg injury. His availability for the remainder of the tournament is now uncertain.
