The Rwanda Basketball Federation (FERWABA) has confirmed that the 2026 Rwanda Cup will take place in early October. All men’s and women’s clubs have been invited to participate in the third edition of the tournament.
APR won the inaugural men’s title when the competition was introduced in 2024. Tigers Basketball Club claimed the 2025 edition after defeating Rwanda Energy Group (REG) 83–77 in the final.
FERWABA says the cup aims to expand the number of competitions and participating teams in Rwanda, create more opportunities for player development and raise overall performance standards. The winners of the Rwanda Cup and the national league will meet in the Rwanda Super Cup before the start of the new season, decided in a single 40-minute contest over four quarters.
