Tunisia's Omar Abada is the all-time leading scorer in the FIBA Basketball World Cup African Qualifiers, having amassed 474 points across three AfroBasket editions. He is the only African player to pass the 400-point mark in the competition.
The two-time AfroBasket champion averaged 12.3 points in 2019, 14.5 in 2023 and 19.1 in the current cycle. He has appeared in every qualifying window across the last three cycles, a rare streak of consistency. Over the past five qualifiers, Abada has scored 15 or more points each time without yet extending that run further.
Abada made his senior tournament debut at the 2011 U19 World Cup in Latvia at the age of 18, before Adel Tlatli called him up for the 2015 AfroBasket on home soil. Following the international retirements of Makram Ben Romdhane, Salah Mejri and Radhouane Slimane, he has become the face of Tunisian basketball, valued for both his scoring and his playmaking.
Tunisia face South Sudan on Sunday, 30 August, with Abada aiming to keep the scoring streak alive in the final stretch of the 2027 qualifiers.
