Kenyan forward Madina Okot played limited minutes off the bench as Atlanta Dream wrapped up their final home game of the WNBA regular season with a 106-81 victory over Chicago Sky at State Farm Arena on Sunday, 20 September. The 22-year-old logged just six minutes, finishing with four points, five rebounds and a steal.
Okot sat out the entire first quarter, checked in for two minutes in the second, then picked up foul trouble early in the third and stayed on the bench until the final three minutes of the fourth. Head coach Karl Smesko kept her sidelined through the middle stages before sending her back in to close the game, where she added four rebounds, a block and a layup.
The win improved Dream to 28-14, giving them outright possession of fourth place in the Eastern Conference. They sit half a game behind third place and half a game ahead of fifth, with two matches remaining against New York Liberty in Brooklyn on Monday and Wednesday that will decide their playoff seeding.
Angel Reese produced her 31st double-double and became the first player in WNBA history to record 500 rebounds in a single season. Dream also set the league record for steals in a season with 347 after tallying 13 on the night.
