Nestlé and the National Basketball Association have announced an international marketing partnership that will make Milo, Nescau and Nesquik official NBA partners across 21 markets on four continents, including Nigeria. The agreement takes effect on 1 January 2027.

Under the deal, the two organisations will create opportunities for young people and families through youth development programmes such as Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA, NBA Basketball School, Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Coaches Academies, Her Time To Play and NBA 3X, alongside selected NBA events and fan platforms including NBA Global Games and NBA House.

In Nigeria, the partnership builds on Milo's two-decade investment in youth basketball through the Milo Basketball Championship, now in its 26th edition. The 2026 edition reached more than 13,000 schools. "Basketball has become an important part of the Milo story in Nigeria, creating opportunities for young people to participate in sport while developing values such as discipline, resilience, teamwork, and self-belief," said Wassim Elhusseini, Managing Director and CEO of Nestlé Nigeria.

The agreement will also feature retail programmes and on-pack promotions with NBA branding, offering consumers chances to win NBA tickets, merchandise and other prizes. "For decades, our brands have believed in the power of sport to bring out the best in people," said Liberato Milo, senior vice president and head of confectionery and snacking strategic business unit at Nestlé.

The partnership will be activated across Australia, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, France, Germany, Ghana, Italy, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States and Vietnam, with the Philippines joining from October 2027.
