Giants of Africa has opened three basketball courts in Rwanda, taking its network to 53 courts across Africa. The organisation opened its 50th court at King’s College in Lagos in May 2026 before adding the Rwandan facilities.
Rwanda now hosts 14 of the organisation’s courts, accounting for more than a quarter of its facilities on the continent. The expansion also takes basketball infrastructure beyond Kigali, where much of the country’s development has traditionally been concentrated.
Kigali has hosted Basketball Africa League matches at BK Arena, while Giants of Africa has held its flagship festival in the city in recent years. The new facilities are expected to improve access to basketball in communities outside the capital and give more young people places to play the sport.
