Accra will host the FIBA Africa Zone 3 U-16 Boys’ and Girls’ Tournament from November 15 to 20, 2026, bringing together young players, team officials, referees and administrators from across West Africa. The Ghana Basketball Association is leading the hosting arrangements.

Games will be played at the Multipurpose Hall of the Borteyman Sports Complex, with FIBA Africa Zone 3 working alongside the FIBA Africa Development Commission and the Competitions Department. The Zone’s General Meeting and Congress will take place at Barima Apartments and Hotels on November 21.

All eight member federations have been asked to send representatives. Nigeria’s boys’ and girls’ U-16 teams have also been formally invited, while other teams are expected to arrive on November 15 for a technical meeting on the morning of November 16.

Each team must include 12 players, three officials and an accompanying referee. FAZ3 President Sam Ahmedu said the event would give Ghana the opportunity to host a regional competition and provide young players with international experience.
