The 'Elephant Girls' narrowly lost to Mountain of Fire and Miracles (MFM) in the finals of the 2026 Zenith Bank Women’s Basketball National Final 8 last Saturday, falling 66-64 after overtime at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
The defeat came in a fiercely contested game. First Bank, chasing a record 10th championship, finished two points short of their rivals.
With an automatic berth to represent Nigeria at the FIBA Africa Zone 3 qualifiers later this year, the 'Elephant Girls' say they are ready to make a strong showing at the continental level.
