Fire Ball Athletic Club won the 2026 Guinea women’s national basketball championship on Tuesday, September 15 at the Palais des Sports in Conakry, defeating the Magic Basketball Club 47-62 in Game 2 of the finals. The result, built on a dominant third quarter, gave Fire Ball the title without the need for a Game 3, a year after losing the final.
MBC led 36-35 at halftime in a tense, physical opening characterised by full-court pressure and aggressive double-teams from both sides. Fire Ball then overwhelmed their opponents after the break, forcing fouls, converting at the line and taking a 42-50 cushion into the final quarter.
MBC faltered in the fourth, undone by turnovers and a brittle defence, as Fire Ball controlled the closing minutes to close out the win. After Sunday’s Game 1 victory, Fire Ball avoided the trap of a decider and erased the memory of last season’s defeat to lift the trophy.
