Nigeria's D'Tigress fell 67-71 to Hungary in Berlin on Saturday, their second consecutive defeat at the 2026 FIBA Women's World Cup. The loss followed a 81-99 opening defeat to South Korea and left D'Tigress still searching for their first win of the tournament.
Hungary controlled the game from the opening quarter, leading 21-13 before extending to 36-26 at half-time and 52-42 after three periods. D'Tigress outscored Hungary 25-19 in the fourth quarter to cut the deficit, but could not complete the comeback.
Amy Okonkwo led Nigeria with 17 points, six rebounds and two assists in 29:46 minutes. Ezinne Kalu added 11 points and a game-high nine assists in 35:51 minutes, while Efe Balogun contributed 13 points, four rebounds and three assists. Victoria Macaulay scored 11 points off the bench in 17:04 minutes and Murjanatu Musa added 10 points and four rebounds.
Nigeria now look to regroup for their remaining fixture, unable to convert the late rally into victory against a Hungarian side that held its advantage throughout.
