Doudou Ndoye, a forward for AS Douanes, died on Thursday, October 8, at the Principal Hospital of Dakar after several days in a coma. He is the third victim of the serious road accident that occurred on the night of Sunday, September 20, following Mouhamed Diouf and Momar Marigo.
The three players were returning together from a basketball tournament with several friends. Mouhamed Diouf, nicknamed "MD," was the point guard for ASC Ville de Dakar, while Momar Marigo played for US Gorée. The Senegalese Basketball Federation confirmed Ndoye's death on the same day and expressed its condolences to his family, his club and his teammates.
Moustapha Gaye, technical director of ASC Ville de Dakar, described Mouhamed Diouf as "a very polite, disciplined, and hardworking young man." A teammate in the Gabon neighbourhood said "a whole generation has gone." Mouhamed Diouf and Momar Marigo had started their careers together at Saltigué.
