Three teams enter, one advances. Cameroon, Gabon and the Republic of Congo meet in Douala from Saturday 10 October to Monday 12 October in a FIBA Africa Zone 4 decider, with the winner qualifying for the 2027 AfroCan in Rwanda.
Hosts Cameroon open the tournament against Gabon on 10 October. Both sides made their AfroCan debut four years ago in Luanda; Gabon finished ninth while Cameroon ended eleventh out of twelve teams. Cameroon won 80-71 the last time the pair met in the AfroCan Qualifiers, in Yaounde in February 2023, and has won all six previous encounters in AfroBasket and AfroBasket Qualifiers dating back to 2009.
For the Republic of Congo, the event marks their first appearance in a regional or continental tournament since the 2013 AfroBasket, where they finished 14th. The Congolese launch their AfroCan Qualifiers campaign against Gabon on Sunday 11 October, before closing the round robin against Cameroon on Monday 12 October.
