Cameroon ended their FIBA AfroCan Zone 4 qualifying campaign in Douala with an 86-63 victory over debutants the Republic of Congo, though the win came too late to alter the standings. The Indomitable Lions finished second in the regional qualifiers, the result delivering the second-largest winning margin in the tournament.
Gabon's two wins from two outings had already booked their place at the 2027 FIBA AfroCan, leaving Monday's clash with little riding on the outcome.
Cameroon coach François Enyegue turned to his bench, and substitute Dylan Ngompe Lele led the way. Lele shot 7-of-16 from the floor and 5-of-10 from three-point range for a game-high 20 points, with the bench contributing 52 of Cameroon's 83 points.
For Congo, Désiré Mouzita and Samuel Johnny Mouyayangui each scored 14 points but could not prevent a second defeat. Cameroon finished 1-1, Congo 0-2, while Gabon advanced undefeated at 2-0.
