BC CNSS are stepping up preparations for the Coupe du Congo following their triumph in the Ligue provinciale de Kinshasa (Liprobakin). Head coach Raven Mwimba told Actualite.cd that the club is two weeks into intensive training and will soon play friendlies to sharpen rhythm and cohesion. "We tried to recover the athletes physically during the first week," Mwimba said. "Now we are starting friendly matches to test the workings of the team."
The Congolese tactician made clear that BC CNSS travel to the national cup with one objective. "CNSS comes to win the Coupe du Congo. When you win Liprobakin, you are obliged to also win the Coupe du Congo," he said. With the competition staged in Kinshasa, Mwimba acknowledged the weight of expectation from supporters. "If we lose, we disappoint our public. We work to satisfy everyone who follows us from afar."
Mwimba, however, warned that the field will be unforgiving. He pointed to fellow Kinshasa clubs Hatari, OGKS and Koriko as dangerous opponents, alongside seasoned provincial winners Makomeno and Lupopo, both accustomed to lifting the national cup. "With those six teams it will not be easy," he said. "But we are working hard and we are confident."
BC CNSS, known as Les Amazones, reclaimed the national title at the 42nd edition of the women's Coupe du Congo and enter this year's tournament as the team to beat.
