Bandalungwa defeated Mont-Ngafula 34-28 on Saturday to win the final of the inaugural Kin Street 24 inter-communal men's basketball tournament in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. The competition brought together teams from the city's 24 municipalities and ran from 5 to 12 September at the 7ème Rue court in Limete, central Kinshasa.
Mont-Ngafula controlled the early stages, leading 7-6 after the first quarter before extending the advantage to 18-11 at the break. Bandalungwa regrouped after halftime and turned the game on its head, moving ahead 24-26 by the end of the third quarter.
Bandalungwa pushed harder in the final period and sealed a 34-28 victory as Mont-Ngafula ran out of energy. The two teams had reached the final through contrasting semi-final performances, with Bandalungwa beating Selembao 41-16 and Mont-Ngafula edging Kimbanseke 32-31.
The winners received a trophy and a 500 US dollar cash prize.
