Angola and Egypt will host the final window of the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup African Qualifiers, FIBA Africa has confirmed. The decision was taken at an Executive Committee meeting last week.

Each of the 12 remaining national teams will play three games in the Second Round of Groups E and F, competing for the last four African places at the 32-nation World Cup scheduled for Indonesia, Japan and the Philippines. From Friday, February 24 until Sunday, April 27, Angola will accommodate Group E while Egypt will host Group F.

The qualifying campaign began in November 2021 with Window 1 in Benguela, Angola, followed by Window 2 in Dakar, Senegal, in February 2022. Window 3 was split between Kigali, Rwanda, and Alexandria, Egypt, in July, ending the hopes of Central African Republic, Kenya, Mali and Rwanda.

The fourth window in August took the 12 surviving teams to Monastir, Tunisia, and Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. Côte d'Ivoire became the first African side to qualify for the World Cup last August.

Group E contains Angola, Cape Verde, Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea, Nigeria and Uganda, while Group F features Cameroon, DR Congo, Egypt, Senegal, South Sudan and Tunisia.
