Arike Ogunbowale deliver record-breaking performance on Tuesday, e score 45 points to lead Dallas Wings to narrow victory ova Golden State Valkyries and level dia playoff series at 1-1. Di Wings dey trail by three with ten seconds remain for regulation when Paige Bueckers find Ogunbowale, wey rise ova French defender Gabby Williams to sink three-pointer and force overtime.
Ogunbowale, wey get 34 points through di fourth quarter, open di extra period with another three-pointer. She later convert two free throws after flagrant foul by Tiffany Hayes and add third three-pointer to put Dallas up by three with under two minutes left. Golden State try to respond, but Williams miss three consecutive shots and France Janelle Salaun also fail from beyond di arc.
Ogunbowale late free throws push her to 43 points, breaking Napheesa Collier two-year-old record for points for playoff game. She finish 12 of 23 from di field and 5 of 8 from three-point range.
"Obviously e dey special," Ogunbowale tok. "I fit do dis, but e no go matter if we lose for di end. Na blessing and I dey thank God everytime I reach one of dis milestones, but di win dey pass everything."
Afta Game 1 wey she manage only 10 points on 2-of-7 shooting, Ogunbowale say she bin determined to stay aggressive. Di series now shift to San Francisco for Game 3 on Friday.
