Forces armées et Police (FAP) go represent Cameroon for the Road to the Basketball Africa League (BAL) 2027, taking over from national champions BEAC wey forfeit because dem no get money to compete. To play for BAL need big money to recruit top local players and bring foreign reinforcement, according to Cameroon-Tribune. The club wey finish second for the national championship, Alph, no fit still afford the trip, so e clear road for FAP, wey end third for the league and win the Cameroon Cup.
This go be the second time wey FAP go enter BAL qualifiers without holding the national champion title, after 2019 when dem start the competition. Dem don draw FAP for Group C, and dem go face Central African champions Avenir du Rail of Congo, Espoir of Gabon and Onatra of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
According to the FIBA schedule, the first stage dey set to play between 1 September and 30 November 2026. The top two teams for the group go advance go the Elite 16 round.
