Di first two court don unveil for Saint-Louis, Senegal, and dem do am with Senegalese national oil and gas company Société des Pétroles du Sénégal (PETROSEN). Di third one dem launch for Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, with partnership with Wave Côte d'Ivoire. More court still dey scheduled to unveil through December 2026 for Dakar, Joal and Guédiawaye for Senegal, and for Owerri, Nigeria.
Di Saint-Louis unveiling happen for Université Gaston Berger, one of Senegal top academic institutions. Di indoor court dey inside one UNESCO World Heritage site and e go give students and di community around dem space to play basketball and run community programmes.
For Abidjan Koumassi district, di court wey dem renovate for Groupe Scolaire Lac go serve nearly 3,000 players every week, and 2,500 of dem na students. Di site go host one basketball development programme for 300 girls wey dey 18 years and below from eight schools, plus di Ligue Jeune youth competition every Saturday. Di Abidjan project na di second BAL court wey dem unveil through di collaboration with Wave Côte d'Ivoire, after di first one for November 2025.
"These newly refurbished courts show say wi dey committed to invest for communities and make di game easy for young pipo across Africa to access," BAL President Amadou Gallo Fall tok. Each court get better playing surface, spectator seating and new stanchions, and some of di sites get modern changing rooms, toilet facilities and lighting.
