Brancou Badio, Mouhamed Faye and Mbaye Ndiaye launched their Euroleague campaigns on Thursday, though only the Panathinaikos and Olympiacos contingent walked away with wins. Badio's Panathinaikos beat Faye's Paris Basketball 91-72, while Ndiaye's Olympiacos defeated Baskonia 106-89.
Badio played 21 minutes in the Panathinaikos victory, finishing with 4 points and 3 rebounds. The Greek side built an early cushion, taking the first quarter 31-17, and pulled away again after the break with a 27-13 third quarter. Faye, meanwhile, came off the bench for 8 minutes for Paris, collecting 2 rebounds without scoring.
Olympiacos set the tone against Baskonia with a 36-29 opening quarter and never looked back. They outscored the Spanish side in each of the first three periods, including a 25-14 third quarter, before conceding the final frame 29-25. Ndiaye contributed 4 points in 8 minutes.
Two more Senegalese players enter Euroleague action on Friday. Mouhamadou Gueye and Valencia BC face Besiktas at 17:00 GMT, while Ousmane Diop and Olimpia Milano meet Partizan Mozzart at 18:45.
