Three Senegal internationals are set to feature in Europe’s leading club competition this season. Brancou Badio and Mouhamadou “Mo” Gueye are with Valencia Basket, while Mbaye Ndiaye has joined Olympiacos, the reigning European champions.

Badio, Senegal’s captain, has become one of Valencia’s principal attacking options. The Rufisque-born forward averaged 10.8 points in his first full EuroLeague season and extended his contract until 2029. He scored 20 points with a performance rating of 25 as Valencia beat Panathinaikos in Game 5 of the playoffs, securing the club’s first Final Four. He later won the Spanish championship.

Ndiaye joined Olympiacos from ASVEL in August on a two-year contract. The 2.04m forward averaged 7.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 32 EuroLeague games last season. At Olympiacos, he is expected to provide cover at power forward and centre behind Nikola Milutinov, Tyrique Jones and Donta Hall.

Gueye, a 2.06m forward born in New York to Senegalese parents, signed for one season with Valencia after four years in the G League. He averaged 15 points and 7.5 rebounds for the Windy City Bulls across 47 appearances and previously played 13 NBA games for the Toronto Raptors and Chicago Bulls.

Senegal finished the August window top of Group F with seven wins and two defeats. The team returns to the court from 22 February to 2 March 2027 to face Egypt, Angola and Mali, with a place in the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup at stake.
