Crvena Zvezda Belgrade have confirmed the signing of Christian Koloko, a 2.16m, 26-year-old centre from Cameroon. The move marks his first professional experience outside the United States and his first taste of the EuroLeague.
The Belgrade club announced the deal on Sunday 18 October. Koloko arrives to address a shortage in the paint caused by injuries to Johnathan Motley and Ebuka Izundu. Crvena Zvezda currently sit at four wins and two defeats after six rounds of EuroLeague action, and are seeking additional depth at the five position. The club said the Cameroonian will join the squad after completing his medical examinations. The length of his contract was not disclosed.
Born in Douala, Koloko played three college seasons at Arizona from 2019 to 2022, when he was named the Pac-12 conference's best defender and most improved player. He was then selected 33rd overall in the 2022 NBA Draft by the Toronto Raptors. Since then he has played for Toronto, the Los Angeles Lakers, the Memphis Grizzlies and the Atlanta Hawks.
During the 2025-2026 NBA season, Koloko featured in 27 regular-season games, averaging 2.7 points, 3 rebounds and 0.9 blocks. His last NBA appearances came with Atlanta, where he played 14 games while also being assigned to the G-League. Crvena Zvezda are banking on his mobility and rim protection to bolster their defence in the coming weeks.
