Senegalese centre Ibou Badji will continue his career with the Shenzhen Leopards in the Chinese Basketball Association. The 23-year-old pivot, who stands 2.18 m, has been retained by the club for the upcoming season.
Badji joined Shenzhen in April to close out the previous campaign, having turned down an offer from Dreamland Gran Canaria. In six CBA outings with the Leopards he posted averages of 7.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 3 blocks per game.
Before arriving in China, Badji featured for the Windy City Bulls and the Greensboro Swarm in the NBA G League, and had a brief stint with the Charlotte Hornets in the NBA. He previously came through the ranks at FC Barcelona and played in Spain with La Laguna Tenerife. A regular with Senegal since 2021, he is now considered part of the national team's core.
