The 2026 FIBA Africa Regional Youth Camp will take place in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, and Tunis, Tunisia, with FIBA Africa bringing its development project back to both cities after previous editions in 2021 and 2022.

An all-girls camp will run in Tunis from October 15 to 18, followed by the boys’ camp in Abidjan from October 23 to 25. Each session will feature 25 participants selected from across the continent, plus 15 spots reserved for local players from the host nation, taking the number of participants at each camp to 40.

Past editions were held in Kigali, Rwanda, and Bamako, Mali, in 2023, with the 2024 edition split between Douala, Cameroon, and Abidjan. Last year’s edition took place at the Hassan Moustafa Sports Hall in Cairo, Egypt.

Since its launch in 2021, the FIBA Africa Youth Camp has reached players from 43 countries and benefited 240 young players, including 90 girls. Notable alumni include Egypt’s Salma Khedr, who represented Egypt at the FIBA U17 Women’s World Cup in Hungary in 2022 and this year’s FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup in Spain, Egypt’s Saifaddin Hendawy, Madagascar’s Andri Lovasoa and Mali’s Fatoumata Samake.

The camps aim to identify African basketball talent and empower young people to become drivers of positive change, with international scouts expected to attend the sessions.
