African Collaborations Group (ACG) has appointed Aïcha Diop, a former executive at NBA Africa and the Basketball Africa League (BAL), to its Advisory Board. ACG is a strategic project origination and collaboration platform focused on developing sport and entertainment district ecosystems across the African continent.
Diop brings more than 18 years of experience across Africa, Europe, the Middle East and North America. At NBA Africa and the BAL she was part of the team that launched the BAL, the first professional sports league operated by the NBA outside North America, leading multi-market initiatives, brand campaigns and audience-development programmes. Earlier in her career she held senior positions at IBM and at Flash Entertainment, where she worked on major international events including Formula 1, UFC, athletics, tennis and football competitions. She holds a Master's degree in Sport & Lifestyle Management from Rome Business School and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.
ACG Founder and Executive Chairman Nicolas Pompigne-Mognard said Diop's role in launching the BAL made her a strategic asset as the group originates bankable district projects. The Advisory Board provides strategic guidance as ACG aligns governments, development finance institutions, investors, sport bodies and infrastructure partners behind mixed-use, revenue-generating ecosystems. Africa's sport economy is projected to reach $20 billion by 2035.
