Veronica Adhiambo, the back-to-back Mozzart Kenya Cup Most Valuable Player, has completed a move to Chinese Super League side Henan Women's Volleyball Club in Luohe. The Kenyan outside hitter arrived in China on Thursday, 15 October, with her transfer confirmed by the national women's volleyball team, Malkia Strikers, via their Facebook account.
Adhiambo earned the MVP awards at Kenya Pipeline in 2025 and 2026. Her switch to Asia follows her performance with the Malkia Strikers at the 2026 CAVB Women's African Nations Volleyball Championship in Nairobi, where Kenya finished as runners-up and secured qualification for the 2027 FIVB World Cup after missing a direct berth for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
The 27-year-old previously played in Europe, beginning her overseas career with Turkish club Tarsus Belediyespor in 2022/23. She moved to Greece's Panionios GSS the following season before spells at AO Lamia 2013, Israeli side Hapoel Kfar Saba and Aris Thessaloniki.
Henan finished sixth in last season's Chinese Super League, won by Shanghai Bright Ubest. Adhiambo will look to establish herself in Asia as Kenya build towards the 2027 World Cup.
