Zenith Bank/NBBF Basketball League Final 8 don start for Nigeria, and MFM, First Bank, Sky Queens and Nigeria Customs all win dia matches on opening day, even though power failure wey happen plenty times and long delay spoil the competition small.
MFM show say dem mean business as dem crush Bayelsa Blue Whales well-well. First Bank also bounce back to winning form, while Sky Queens from Abuja start dia campaign with calm 55-36 win against Titans Basketball Club. Nigeria Customs use Air Warriors bad shooting take end the day with 55-41 win.
But the main gist na how dem organise the event. The first match wey suppose start by 10:00 a.m. no start until around 1:00 p.m., wey be like three hours delay. The late start scatter the rest of the schedule, and power cut hit many games, including one wey last pass 40 minutes for the third quarter of Sky Queens match.
Because nobody explain wetin cause the first delay, teams and people wey come watch no know the correct time again. People dey ask whether the venue ready to host big national women basketball competition like this, especially since some of the top clubs for the country dey play for the title.
