Giants of Africa don open three basketball courts for Rwanda, as e extend im Built Within programme to all five provinces. The organisation don build 53 courts across 16 African nations now, more than halfway towards im target of 100 community courts across the continent.
Dem courts open for consecutive days as dem partner with Rwanda’s Ministry of Sports. Dem dey for Nyagatare for Eastern Province, Musanze for Northern Province and Nyanza for Southern Province, and na go serve more than 9,500 young people, students and community members.
The Nyagatare court, near the University of Rwanda’s campus, na go serve more than 600 people. For GS Marie Reine Rwaza for Musanze, a Catholic boarding school with 900 students, the court get sizeable school community catchment. The Nyanza court for Igihozo St Peter go open to 8,000 people from the school and neighbouring schools.
These sites join the earlier courts for Rusizi, Western Province, and Kigali, bringing the number of Built Within courts for Rwanda to 14. Giants of Africa credit the Ministry of Sports and the Rwanda Basketball Federation, FERWABA, as partners. The organisation get 47 courts left to build to reach im target of 100.
