The 2026 Zenith Bank NBBF Women’s Basketball League reaches its national Finals on September 28, with eight teams converging on the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos, for a six-day battle that runs until October 3.
Nigeria Customs, AS Sky Queens, Titans, Air Warriors, MFM, First Bank, Victoria Queens and Bayelsa Blue Whales emerged from the Atlantic and Savannah Conferences to claim the Final 8 spots. Defending champions Dolphins Basketball Club, who beat First Bank in last year’s final, failed to reach the top four in the Atlantic Conference and will not feature.
First Bank arrive as the most successful team in the competition’s history with nine league titles, while MFM will look to extend their recent dominance after winning back-to-back championships in 2023 and 2024. The clash sets up a contest between experience and ambition for the national crown.
Zenith Bank has served as sole sponsor of the National Women’s Basketball League since 2005, working alongside the Nigeria Basketball Federation to sustain a platform that has fed players into the national team, D’Tigress, and shaped careers across more than two decades.
