Stade Malien de Bamako return to continental competition in the West Division of the Road to BAL 2027 qualifiers in Tripoli, Libya. The Mali champions will play Kriol Star on Wednesday at 14h, Nadi Basket Staoueli on Thursday at 14h and Al Ittihad de Libye on Friday at 16h30.

The first qualifying phase runs across several cities until November 3. The top two teams from the group will qualify for the Elite 16 of the Basketball Africa League 2027.

Stade Malien missed the previous edition after losing the national championship final to CRBT, but regained the domestic title this season. Kelvin Amayo and Rally Fula are part of the squad, alongside the club’s local core and experienced players who have competed in earlier BAL editions.

The Bamako side face a difficult route to qualification, with all three group matches taking place within three days. Their West Division campaign is aimed at securing a return to the BAL’s Elite 16 stage.
