Chinese Basketball Association side Shandong Heroes have signed Nuni Omot, a 31-year-old small forward who holds American and South Sudanese nationality, ahead of the upcoming season. Omot, a Baylor University graduate, arrives from Al Ittihad Tripoli, where his team finished as regular season runner-up in Libyan League Group 2 in 2026, and from a brief stint with Hotshots in the Filipino PBA, where he averaged 32.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 6.0 assists across three games.
The forward brings extensive international experience, having played professionally in thirteen countries across five continents. His career has spanned France, Germany, Holland, Israel, Lebanon, the Philippines, Poland, Puerto Rico, Turkey, North Macedonia, China, the NBA G League and Rwanda. He was named to the Afrobasket.com All-FIBA Afrobasket Honorable Mention in 2025.
At international level, Omot represented South Sudan at the FIBA Olympic Games in Paris two years ago, averaging 16.7 points and 3.3 rebounds. He previously led Al Ahly Cairo in scoring in the Egyptian Superleague. Omot attended Indian Hills Community College and Concordia University St Paul before Baylor, and is entering his ninth professional season.
