Senegalese player Serigne Mor Touré returns to continental basketball with Stade Malien of Bamako, the club he helped win the Mali championship. He has been named in the squad for the first round of qualifying for the Basketball Africa League 2027 in Tripoli, Libya.

Stade Malien reclaimed the national title at the end of the 2025-2026 season, defeating Djoliba AC 3-1 in the final. The Bamako club now target a place in the Elite 16 as it begins its continental campaign.

The Malians will play three matches in Group A of the West Division against Kriol Star of Cape Verde, Nadi Basket Staoueli of Algeria and Al Ittihad of Libya. The first two teams in the group will progress to the Elite 16, the next stage of BAL 2027 qualifying.
