Three clubs from the Democratic Republic of Congo are heading to Brazzaville for the first window of the Road to BAL and the Women's Basketball League Africa (WBLA) qualifiers, scheduled from 24 to 28 October.

In the men's draw, BC SCTP, formerly known as Onatra, return to African competition two decades after their last appearance. Drawn in Group C of the West Division of the Road to BAL 2027, the Kinshasa side need to finish in the top two to reach the Elite 16, set for November in Abidjan.

On the women's side, BC CNSS and BC Hatari will face stiff opposition from clubs representing Cameroon, Gabon and host nation Congo. CNSS, the reigning DRC champions known as the Amazones, are targeting qualification for the WBLA final phase and another strong showing in Zone 4. For Hatari, the national vice-champions, the campaign is framed as a test of maturity and a chance to challenge the established order.

The Congolese delegation will cross the Congo River aiming to bring qualifying tickets back to Kinshasa and underline the DRC's standing in Central African basketball.
