EA7 Emporio Armani Milano opened the new LBA Serie A season with an 83-79 home win over Trieste on Sunday. The defending champions trailed by seven entering the final quarter before a 26-15 closing period flipped the result.
Trieste had set the tone, taking the first quarter 19-17 and leading 41-38 at half-time. The visitors stretched their advantage to 64-57 after the third quarter, but Milano rallied down the stretch to seal a four-point victory.
Senegalese centre Ousmane Diop played 13 minutes off the bench, finishing with five points, five rebounds and three assists. The win followed Milan's 94-87 overtime victory over Reyer Venezia in the Italian Super Cup final on 20 September, a game in which Diop scored nine points.
