The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has released the guidelines, timelines and modalities for its forthcoming elective congress scheduled for 15 October in Abuja. The announcement was made by Lanre Glover, Chairman of the NBBF Electoral Committee.
Glover said the deadline for submitting nomination forms for election to the NBBF Board is 2 p.m. on Thursday, 8 October. The electoral process follows the constitution of a seven-member Electoral Committee, chaired by Glover, at the Extraordinary Congress held in Yola, Adamawa State. A three-member Appeals Committee was also set up to handle disputes arising from the process.
Glover, a trustee of the Nigeria Olympic Committee and Honorary Life President of the Nigerian Triathlon Union, said the committee was committed to a transparent process. "We are committed to having a transparent process in producing a new executive board that would hopefully drive Nigeria Basketball forward," he said in a statement released to the media.
