Namuwongo Blazers defeated COSPN 99-56 in Group D of the Road to BAL 2027 on Thursday 22 October 2026, recording their second victory in two matches. Franck Nyembo led the Ugandan side with 23 points and eight rebounds, while Makhtar Gueye added 15 and Peter Obleng scored 11.

COSPN recovered from an early 13-0 Namuwongo run and were narrowly ahead at the end of the first quarter, 20-19. The Malagasy club remained within eight points at half-time, with Namuwongo leading 43-35, but could not contain the Blazers after the break.

Two successful free throws from Gueye helped Namuwongo pull away in the third quarter. The Blazers scored 28 points to COSPN’s eight, stretching the deficit from eight to 28 at 71-43 before winning the final period 28-13. Namuwongo also dominated the second half 56-21.

The win leaves Namuwongo with two victories as they seek a place in the Elite 16, but free throws remain an area for improvement after they converted only 19 of 33 attempts. The Blazers face the South Sudan Patriots on Saturday, while COSPN take on the same opponents on Friday 23 October.
