Uganda's Namuwongo Blazers Basketball Club now know the path standing between them and the Elite 16 phase of the 2027 Basketball Africa League. According to official competition details released by FIBA Africa, the Blazers have been placed in East Division Group D.
The Namuwongo-based side must finish among the top two to advance past a group that includes Urunani BBC of Burundi, Rwanda's Patriots BBC, COSPN BBC of Madagascar and Ushundzi BBC of Comoros. The round-robin phase will run from October 23 to October 26, 2026 in Hoima.
The top two finishers will progress to the East Division Elite 16, scheduled for Nairobi, Kenya, from November 24 to November 29, 2026. The Blazers, founded in 2014, will play in front of their home crowd as they attempt to push Ugandan basketball back into the continental spotlight.
