Guinean champions Nabaya Basket Club received the national flag in a ceremony presided over by Amara Babila Keita, president of the Guinean Basketball Federation (FGBB), ahead of their trip to the Basketball Africa League (BAL) 2027 West Division qualifiers. The tournament runs from 21 to 25 October in Tripoli, Libya.
The federation's gesture signalled its backing for Nabaya as they prepare to represent Guinea in the continental competition. Nabaya have been drawn in Group A, where they will face Libyan side Al Ittihad, Stade Malien of Mali, Nadi Staoueli of Algeria and Cape Verde's Kriol Star. The top two teams in the group advance to the Elite 16.
As defending national champions, Nabaya aim to clear the group stage and continue their push towards BAL 2027.
