Senegal international Mbaye Ndiaye delivered a standout performance for Olympiacos in EuroLeague action on Thursday, scoring 23 points with 7 rebounds and 1 block in 20 minutes off the bench during a 96-94 defeat to Virtus Bologna.
The guard took control in the final quarter, scoring 17 of his 23 points, but his effort could not prevent the Greek side from conceding late. He was named Olympiacos' MVP of the game despite the loss.
Ndiaye joined Olympiacos in September from ASVEL and had previously featured for the club in the European Super Cup and the Greek Basketball Super Cup before beginning his EuroLeague campaign. In the opening round he scored 4 points in 8 minutes during a 106-89 win over Baskonia, then added 9 points in 19 minutes as Olympiacos beat Zalgiris Kaunas 93-91 the following week.
After three appearances the Senegalese has produced his most decisive outing yet under the Olympiacos colours, an individual highlight on a frustrating night for the Greek club.
