Kenyan centre Madina Okot featured off the bench on Thursday, 1 October, as the Atlanta Dream wrapped up a 2-0 first-round sweep over the Washington Mystics with a 93-75 win at CareFirst Arena. The result sent the fourth-seeded Dream into the WNBA playoff semifinals for the first time in eight years.

Okot, 22, played four minutes across three quarters, grabbing two rebounds. Her first appearance came with 3:41 left in the first quarter, when she replaced Angel Reese.

Allisha Gray led the Dream with 22 points. Jordin Canada added 19, including 13 in the fourth quarter, along with 11 assists. Rhyne Howard and Reese scored 15 each, with Naz Hillmon adding 10. The series win was Atlanta's first in the playoffs since 2016.

"All we cared about was winning and advancing, and everyone did their part," Dream head coach Karl Smesko said.

Atlanta will host the eighth-seeded New York Liberty in the best-of-five semifinals, with Game One scheduled for Sunday, 4 October, at State Farm Arena.
