Madagascar’s CosPN begin their Road To BAL campaign against Urunani BBC of Burundi on 22 October in Hoima City, Uganda. The game is part of the East Division and falls in qualifying Group D, with the first stage running until 25 October.
CosPN will be without two players selected by the national police team. Pivot Jorge Filipe, who previously played for Petro de Luanda, stands 2,08 m tall, while guard Ikena Okeke, who has played for Naestved Denmark, measures 2,01 m. Coach Tojo identified the two positions as areas of concern for the Malagasy side.
Urunani BBC are not the only opponents CosPN must negotiate before targeting the Elite 16. The Malagasy club will also face Uganda’s Namwongo Blazers and South Sudan’s Patriots Basketball Club, while Ushundzi Basket of Comoros withdrew from the competition.
