Three teams from Kinshasa’s provincial basketball league have been selected to represent the Democratic Republic of Congo at qualifiers in Brazzaville from 24 to 28 October 2026. The clubs are BC Onatra, BC CNSS and BC Hatari, according to the Kinshasa provincial league.
BC Onatra will represent the country in Group C of Zone 4 at the Central African men’s competition. It will face FAP of Cameroon, Espoir Basketball of Gabon and Avenir du Rail of the Republic of Congo.
BC CNSS and BC Hatari, both finalists in the 2026 Congo Cup, will compete in separate groups in the women’s event. Their selection gives Congolese basketball an opportunity to test itself against leading teams from the sub-region and represent the country on the continental stage.
The three Kinshasa clubs are seeking to qualify for the next stages of the two competitions. Their participation also forms part of the Liprobakin’s broader ambition to promote the DRC’s presence and ambitions in African basketball.
