Gabonese centre Chris Silva has extended his contract with Fenerbahce, the Istanbul club confirmed. The 2.03-metre player, who wears number 30, signed a new deal on 7 July 2026 after joining the Turkish side in January of the same year. Sarunas Jasikevicius is his coach in Istanbul.
Born in Libreville, Silva spent four college years at South Carolina, where he was named co-defensive player of the year in 2018 and made the all-conference first team twice. Miami gave him his NBA start in 2019 and kept him for three seasons, with shorter spells at Sacramento, Minnesota and Dallas following.
Silva then moved to Europe, spending a season at Israel's Bnei Herzliya before joining AEK Athens in 2025. With the Greek club he averaged 14.8 points and 8.0 rebounds a game on 70 percent shooting from the field, earning Champions League regular-season MVP honours. Fenerbahce signed him in January 2026 and went on to win the Turkish league and the national cup that spring, with the Gabonese featuring in 16 EuroLeague games along the way.
