The 43rd edition of the Coupe du Congo men's basketball closed on Sunday 27 September at the twin gymnasium of the Stade des Martyrs in Kinshasa, with BC Génération Espoir lifting the trophy after a 65-61 victory in the final.
The Lubumbashi side held their nerve in the closing seconds to clinch the title. Their run to the crown included a 42-40 quarter-final upset of defending champions BC SCTP, formerly known as Onatra.
The victory caps a remarkable campaign for Génération Espoir and underlines the growing strength of Katanga basketball at national level. The Kinshasa final brought the tournament to a festive close, signalling a new chapter for the new champions while extending the CNSS dynasty at the top of Congolese basketball.
