Al Ahly's women opened the Egyptian Basketball League with a commanding 103-42 victory over Zamalek on Saturday at Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Hall in Gezira. The Red Eagles dominated from the outset, racing to a 37-23 lead by the end of the first quarter at their own headquarters.
The hosts kept their foot on the accelerator in the second period, heading into halftime with a 62-27 advantage. Al Ahly's pressure showed no signs of easing after the break, as they stretched the margin to 80-35 entering the final quarter before closing out the 103-42 result.
Earlier the same day, Al Ahly's U16 women's side had also enjoyed a one-sided derby, defeating Zamalek 93-37 in their league fixture at the Gezira venue.
